Lee Pitcher’s Water Safety Bill (Sam’s Law)

Proud to support Lee Pitcher’s Water Safety Bill (Sam’s law), which aims to:

Make life-saving equipment around open water mandatory

Criminalise vandalism of safety equipment

Expand water safety education in schools

I joined Lee at his parliamentary reception, jointly hosted by Water UK, to hear about the importance of the Bill as part of Drowning Prevention Week.

It was a real honour to meet Simon, whose son Sam sadly lost his life to drowning in a Yorkshire reservoir. He has launched Sam’s Army Mission, a campaign in Sam’s memory to raise awareness of the dangers of open water and to raise money for more water safety equipment.
