I met the Youth Justice Minister Jake Richards this week to discuss a wide range of topics that I've raised in the House of Commons in recent weeks including:

  • Overall Prison Officer and staff safety, welcoming the use of PAVA in the YOI estate and discussing what further work can be done in this area.

  • How the government can work with care leavers and supportive organisations to reduce the numbers of people with care experience who enter the criminal justice system.

  • Concerns over Capita's management of the Civil Service Pension Scheme and the anxiety this is causing current and former Prison Staff
